Today I’m linking up with Andrea to share our yard and outdoor space. I have really come to look forward to these posts on our house. Not only do I find it fun to share with you, it really pushes us to finish a lot of our projects. For those of you who are new, we are renting this house, we have the freedom to upgrade it, and we’re approaching living here for a year in July.
I just posted about our garden a couple of weeks ago, so this is a little bit of a recap. In May, our garden looked like this:
Steve and I worked really hard to pull tons of weeds, plant new seeds, and Steve bolstered up the falling planter-beds. It turns out that some of the wood was rotting (and had a few ant hills inside), so he even added a little bit of new wood to fix that issue.

What our garden looks like as of yesterday.

Our sunflowers (a dollar-bin Target purchase) are growing beautifully!

I planted some Cosmos (a pretty wildflower) and I cannot wait until it blooms.

The pumpkin that I composted after Halloween is growing sprouts!

We’ve planted tomato seeds, but a friend from church gave us six already growing tomato plants.

The rest of our yard is pretty basic. I just love having a space where Ivy and Nolan can run and play because we didn’t have that before as apartment dwellers.

Our gorgeously green maple tree in the front yard. Unfortunately it is not healthy and may have to come down at the end of the summer.

Nolan decided to help me sweep before I took the pictures of our front porch :)

It was providential that I was able to captures this shot. This is Nolan’s “at rest” pose. Oh two year-olds . . .

I am so looking forward to spending my summer nights out here with these guys. We are so blessed to have this wrap-around porch. Never in a million years did I think that I would have one!
I just got the blue pillows from Target.com. I am in love with them!
