“overrated” giveaway

eugene cho overrated
I’m super excited for today’s giveaway of the book “Overrated,” by Eugene Cho. Eugene is the pastor of Quest Church, in Seattle, which is actually a part of my church’s close-knit denomination :)

Steve and I are dreamers. We like to sit around and talk about all of the things we’d like to do someday and all of the ministries we’d like to be a part of. But time goes by, and we don’t always make those projects happen. They either sound difficult because they require sacrifices (like time) or because they cost too much money. In these times we may be letting our own feelings get in the way of the Lord’s will for us.

Eugene Cho suggests that if we do not actually use all of the tools (hello, social media) at our disposal to change the world, then we may be the most overrated generation.

Eugene and his wife, Minhee, started “One Day’s Wages,” a movement to help alleviate extreme global poverty. In part of the book, he tells the story about how they learned to live simply and minimally in order to donate a year’s salary to start the organization.

If you have a passion for justice and doing the Lord’s work in the world but aren’t really sure where to start, or you need a push to go out and actually do it, you should really consider this book! It’s an entertaining read with a modern and engaging voice.

I can’t wait to study this book further and figure out what it means for me to seek these ideas out in my own life. :)

Enter the Rafflecopter below and a winner will be chosen on October 1st, at 12 am EST.

  1. Thank you for this post!!! It can be so easy to get overwhelmed and to just sort of get stuck and end up doing nothing at all.
