It’s Friday again—Yay! We’ve had a fun week of playdates and parties. On Tuesday, I went to MOPS, and we watched the hilarious “Mom’s Night Out” and ate popcorn at 9:45 in the morning. Nolan really enjoyed playing with the other kids. Although he doesn’t have any separation anxiety, when I went to pick him up, I found him calling “Mommy!” down the hall, and then he kept repeating “Mommy, I love you” when I showed up. My heart just about burst!
Steve went back to work on Wednesday after having a long, college-sized Christmas break. (Though he did a TON of “homework” on his dissertation and class-planning in the meantime.) He teaches a class on Wednesdays for one university. Then starting next week, he teaches two additional classes for another university on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Unfortunately, he has really long commutes for both. But we’ve enjoyed all of the time we’ve had him home this month!
On Wednesday night, Nolan put his hand on mine and said, “This is what Mickey does to Minnie Mouse.” Again, my heart swelled! Three is a hard age, but it sure has its adorable moments.
Yesterday, we went to our friend Abigail’s fourth birthday party. We drove a half an hour to the closest “Chuck E. Cheese” type place, and the kids loved it! Nolan’s favorite part was the Merry-Go-Round. He learned that if he sat on it long enough, another mom would come along and plug some quarters into it so he could go for another ride :) His face was pure joy! Afterwards, we visited a cute cake shop to do some research for Ephraim’s birthday. (Less than two weeks—ahh!) I am leaning towards making his cake myself in order to save some money.
These were my favorite photos of the week. I love when I can get both Ephraim and Nolan in a shot together. It takes two adults and a lot of coaxing to get them to sit and smile, but it’s so worth it!
As I’m writing this, we’re eating the last of the Brown Butter & Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookies. They are amazing, and I will be planning more cookie recipes in the future. I must have chocolate in my house at all times, of course. :)
Yesterday, I shared 7 of the ways that I organize my home. Thanks to all of you who joined our first Every Girl Link-Up! You can find this “Weekly Chores” free printable on my post.
This long-sleeve dress is definitely a new favorite of mine. Steve bought it for me at Target a couple of weeks ago (see my WIWW post for more info).
Steve and I are on a popcorn kick right now, and we are inhaling a bag of this stuff every night. I’ve really been trying to buy healthier, more natural foods, so I’m thankful for finding this. It is DELICIOUS! We melt a little bit of real butter over it for the perfect flavor. Air-popped used to be our favorite, but since I ate it so much during my pregnancies, I can’t really eat it anymore. (Anyone else have that happen with pregnancy foods?) Orville has a yummy “Lime & Salt” flavor as well, but in single-serve bags.
Thanks for stopping by today! Enjoy the weekend!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful dress!
ReplyDeleteYou look adorable in that dress....and bonus that the hubs purchased!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love those sweet 3yo moments! :) I seriously could have popcorn every day! Unfortunately, I can't seem to stomach the microwave stuff very often. I switched to fresh popped a couple of years ago and I can't go back! Sometimes I will just make a big batch and throw it in ziploc bags for the week :)
ReplyDeleteAnd how is E going to be one already???? Oh my goodness does time fly!
I need to make those cookies ASAP looks amazing!
