I’m so thankful that my boys are developing a love for reading! Ephraim has just started picking up books and climbing on to our laps to turn the pages. Nolan looks forward to the times of day when Stephen or I sit down and read with him. He likes the one-on-one time, and he is a little sponge for everything on the page. While I’m reading, sometimes I will test him to finish off my sentences—and he remembers every word!
For the past week or so, we’ve been reading our new book, “Whatever Wanda”.

“Whatever Wanda” by Christy Ziglar is the third book in the “Shine Bright Kids” series. If you can remember a while back, I did reviews for “Can’t Wait Willow” and “Must-Have Marvin”. Each book focuses on life skills that children need to learn to make good choices. I think they’re excellent teaching tools, and I love that the characters make cameos in each other’s books :)

”Whatever Wanda” starts off with Wanda having a bad attitude about everything. Everyone in town is excited about the big “Rubber Duck Days” festival but Wanda couldn’t care less. At the festival, she is full of frowns, disappointment, and the word “Whatever”. Finally someone points out that she needs an attitude adjustment, “Being positive is a choice that makes everything better—not to mention a whole lot more fun!” After this, she has a change of heart, and she goes on to fully enjoy the events.

The characters are really cute, and the illustrations are beautiful!

Ephraim picked up a book to read on his own :)
