My favorite day of the week is here again! It’s been a wonderful week, and I am excited to share my favorites with you today!
Yesterday, Steve taught his last class for the year. He now has a ton of grading to do, but it’s crazy to think that this is now summer for him!
Ever since Nolan was a baby, I thought he should be a drummer. He’s always been able to keep a beat!
On Sunday, our pastor’s son Matt was playing a Cajon box drum during the worship service. We sit in the very back, and Nolan has a lot of trouble sitting still and paying attention. He stays for the music and then goes downstairs with the other kids for children’s church. When I went down to get him after church, he was sitting on two styrofoam boxes that he had made into his own box drum! It was adorable! He really amazes me sometimes.
On Wednesday, I shared my favorite spring/summer dress! It’s so easy to just pull it out of the closet, put it on, and run out the door!
Yesterday, Astleigh and I shared the simple spring décor we have around our homes. I think the pink flamingos were the perfect addition to my walls! Thanks to those of you who linked up with us!
I’m now on day 4 after my gum graft surgery. So far, so good! I’ve been walking around with cold and warm compresses on my face for the past few days. It’s been tough to find food that I want to eat, since I have stitches both on the roof of my mouth and on the front gumline. Steve is a sweet husband and makes me pancakes and chocolate milkshakes :)
I still haven’t seen the actual graft since the putty dressing is still covering up my front teeth. Thank you for your prayers for quick healing!
And now for the GIVEAWAY!
Of all the books, movies, and music I’ve given away in the past—This is my FAVORITE giveaway yet!
I have loved the artist PLUMB since she first came onto the Christian music scene in 1997. (EIGHTEEN YEARS!) I’ve collected her albums, and her music has resonated with my soul through junior high, high school, college, and now my life as a wife/mom. Tiffany Arbuckle Lee only gets better with age! :)
Steve went to her concert the week before Ephraim was due, and I couldn’t go because I was so pregnant, and it was out-of-town!
PLUMB’s seventh album EXHALE was released on Monday. If you’re a Christian radio listener, I’m sure you’ve heard the song, “Lord, I’m Ready Now” played frequently on your station.
The title track “Exhale” is currently my favorite.
”Just let go,
Let his love wrap around you
And hold you close.
Get lost in the surrender.
Breathe it in, until your heart breaks,
And exhale…
We do not exist for us,
But to share Your grace and love
And exhale.”
The EXHALE album is full of songs of gratitude and hope, reflection and worship.
Musically, this CD has a variety of styles. For example, “Great is Our God” is a beautiful, almost-hymnlike song, and then there’s “My True Love” which has a catchy dance beat that my boys and I immediately loved.

Ah, the turtle sandbox! I remember those days... looks like the boys are having a great time. Do they enjoy shopping with you at Wal-Mart? My mom used to let us split a pack of M&Ms if we behaved. :-) Now I am listening to Plumb and she has some powerful songs. Thanks for the recommendation!
ReplyDeleteI love Plumb!! Always such powerful music & lyrics. How cute is your son drumming?! :) So sweet!
ReplyDeleteOk, I didn't even know that Plumb was still making music! The first time I ever "hung out" with my now husband of 16 years, was when he was doing security for a Plumb concert (in 1998) and we both went back to a mutual friend's house afterward. They clearly have a special place in my heart. ;) Loved their older stuff, and apparently I need to check out what they're up to now! I love that your son made his own drum!! That story made me smile! :) Glad to hear that your recovery is going well and that your hubby is taking good care of you making those yummy pancakes and chocolate milkshakes! Have a beautiful Mother's Day, Rachel! xo - Brenda // Chatting Over Chocolate

ReplyDeleteFirst of all I have to say that your photography skills are amazing. I always love looking at your pictures! I hope your mouth continues to heal....and we also have a little drummer boy in our oldest...and you can't teach that kind of rhythm, it's just something God puts into a person! :) Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteYou look awesome you would never know that you just had surgery. When I had my wisdom teeth removed I looked like a squirrel hording nuts in my cheeks for a solid week, lol. That was so small compared to what you had done!!! I love all the pictures of Nolan and Ephriam!!! That's so cool about Nolan and his drums!! Have a great weekend!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your dress!! And, praying the rest of your recovery goes well!!!
ReplyDeleteYou can't go wrong with pancakes and milkshakes. :) I also love that dress!
