Now that it's my third time around with a baby, I have gotten pretty amazing at multitasking, if I can say so myself. The one thing that I find really hard to do while holding or feeding a baby is -- type. So, this overload of photos is from March, and then I'll do a second post of the photos from April. After that, I'm really hoping to post weekly. Don't hold your breath? :)
At the beginning of March, we went on our first road trip as a family of five. We drove to Indiana to see Steve's brother Phil and his family.
August turned 2 months-old while we were there!
The boys had a blast with their three girl cousins, and this park trip was a highlight :)
These two could be related?
Girl-boy-girl-boy-girl-boy, in age order.
Hanging out with Aunt Dana and Uncle Phil.
We stopped in Columbus to visit friends, and they had a great porch overlooking the river.
We celebrated Nolan's half birthday with ice cream cones. (5 1/2!)
Coffee coffee coffee all day long.
This just might be my favorite picture of August yet.
Snoozing in church.
And snoozing at home :)
Shay (Mix and Match Mama) sent me a copy of her new cookbook, Kids in the Kitchen. My time in the kitchen has been infrequent lately, but I can't wait to experiment with these simple and fun recipes!
For St. Patrick's Day, the boys made rainbows out of Fruit Loops (or Fruit Rounds if you shop at Aldi like me.) When I looked away for a few minutes, Ephraim had eaten half his rainbow, glue and all.
I made some green macarons with chocolate ganache filling for St. Paddy's.
And we got a photo of this little good luck charm on his first green holiday.
Hammer pants?
Nolan reading to Ephraim -- sweetest thing ever. And helps me out!
Our sweet little burrito baby.
I was carrying him around the house in this position one day, and he fell asleep :)
My friend Carol (who is my grandma's age) likes to come over on Fridays to hold the baby for me so I can get a few things done. And she brings donuts. Win-win!
Love!
Trying to get a family selfie. Hammie the dog joined us, of course.
"Rise, and grind, and give God the glory, glory". . . gets stuck in my head every time I sip from this mug.
This was from the boys' and my first spring walk around the neighborhood. If I could only figure out how to walk the dog at the same time, we'd be set!
We used Annie Sloan chalk paint for the first time to freshen up the brown crib. August isn't sleeping in it quite yet, but it looks pretty!
Nolan found this compact mirror at Grandma and Grandpa's house, and when he opened it, it said "at 40". And it whistled - - like a cat call.
Nolan asked for a piece of paper and a crayon, and when he brought it back, it said "at 29" for me. Haha!
My word for 2017 has been "freely" which comes from Jesus' words in Matthew 11: 28-30, "Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me - watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me, and you'll learn to live freely and lightly" (The Message). I'm a work in progress.
Yay! You made it to the end!
April photos coming soon. . .
I loved this post! How crazy that you have all boys, and your BIL and SIL have all girls, which just so happen to stagger between genders perfectly. I cracked up about E eating all of his Fruit Rounds + the glue; and I so need a Carol in my life (donuts + time to get stuff done = yes, please!). And Nolan is too smart and funny with that compact mirror :) I hope the Zimm family is doing so well! xo
ReplyDeleteHi Rachel! Love to see you posting! I missed you. Great pics of your family - kids are growing so quickly. I was especially moved by the verse you shared at the end, especially in The Message version. I grew up with King James and NIV translations only.
ReplyDeleteLook forward to your future posts!
