Christmas recap

I could come up with a million excuses for neglecting my blog, but every time I come back to it, I ask myself, "Am I ready to shut it down?" And the answer is no. I just have to rethink the way that I use this blog, and let go of my perfectionistic tendencies. This is a little piece of our history that I see myself being incredibly grateful for as my kids get older.

We had a fantastic Christmas season! We didn't travel to Pennsylvania this year, but Pennsylvania family came to us. Some of us were sick at untimely moments (like as we were getting in the car for the Christmas Eve service), and things didn't go as planned, but all in all, it was wonderful. :)

At this time, 7 months-old!

It's always a highlight to go to Daddy's work and pet some live animals - like reindeer!

Steve agreed that we could get a real tree this year since we weren't traveling, and we picked out this sweet Fraser fir! It was a dream - we had it until the end of January, to be honest, and it still looked pretty great!

Junia is our first baby to not have a dog in the house, so it was sweet to see her with a friend's puppy!

French silk pie at the holidays is a must.

Our traditional TJs A-frame gingerbread house!

We don't eat out much, so it's always a real treat to have dinner at Chick-Fil-A!

Our Christmas card photo!

And the annual matching jammies pic! A year ago, I didn't know if we were going to have a new boy or a girl in this photo!

All the Zimm kids lined up on Christmas Eve Eve!

We inherited quite a few Christmasy outfits for Junia, and it was so much fun to have her wear them all!

XO
