august pinspired & what’s on my wishlist

I am all about color in my wardrobe, so my Pinterest boards reflect that love of color. This month I focused mostly on my colorful shorts and making them work with neutral colored tops. Take a look :)
 
August is my birthday month, so this is the perfect time for me to participate in the “What’s On . . . My Wishlist” link up with Andrea.

I have been frequenting J Crew Factory’s website to find a good deal on my favorite shorts. Even though it’s August already, I can save them to wear next summer. They are finally on sale right now, but unfortunately I only have the choice between black or white—and I’m looking for that color!   :)

Switching subjects, here’s a recap of the outfits I’ve worn this month. I’m continually inspired by pins I see on Pinterest. This summer I feel like there are so many maxi dresses on Pinterest.

I attempted to share in the maxi love with my new Target racerback and eShakti chambray dresses :)

what i wore + april pin-spired

Now that it’s spring, and we’re starting to peel off some of the layers of winter clothing, I’m really going to challenge myself to get dressed every day. I feel so much happier and more productive when I am wearing jeans as opposed to pajama pants, my contacts, a few swipes of makeup, and brushed hair. Even if Steve is the only one who sees me most days, I still want to look like the girl he married when he comes home from work :) I suppose he’s not the only guy who notices what I wear. When I get dressed, Nolan will often smile and say,“Utterful Mommy, so utterful!” (Which in his sweet 2-year-old language means beautiful.) :)

This spring, I’m leaning toward light neutrals and beautiful pastel colors. And even though I’ve been a silver jewelry girl forever, my eyes are very attracted to gold right now. This mint and white outfit was a lot of fun to put together, and I can’t wait to wear it again!

On Monday I took these photos for today’s Pin-spired. Little did I know that I would go into labor that night and these would become my last pregnancy pictures! I normally take my outfit photos outside, but wild negative temperatures called for the use of my full length mirror :)

I think my best advice for maternity fashion is to invest in a lot of basics—long tanks, a good pair of jeans, and comfortable colored cotton shirts.
