Happy New Year's Eve! I can't believe it's the last day of 2015! I am excited to begin a new year, but I'm also feeling nostalgic for all of the fun we've had in the past twelve months. I didn't realize just how much has happened this year until I started going through photos last night. Our boys grew in leaps and bounds. We found so much joy in the little things. Hard days hit, but we knew that "this too shall pass", and trusted that God would bring us through. 2015 was a wonderful year. Take a look at our highlights:
Ephraim Luke turned one in January! We celebrated with the sweetest Peter Rabbit party.
Nolan turned 3.5 in March, and we should have stopped time right there! :)
After a long winter, we were so glad to see spring and celebrate Easter!
The summer brought pool time, nightly walks, and plenty of home renovations!
In June, we took a short trip down to Winchester, Virginia to meet Astleigh and her husband Pete! They just became parents to beautiful Greer last week :)
The first week of July was our 3rd annual trip to Family Camp in New York with all of the Zimms. We always love time spent on the lake!
Steve turned 29 in July! Though he was sick on his birthday, he said he liked having the time to relax!
We took a big road trip at the end of July. We drove to Indiana to gather with my mom's side of the family. And then we pushed on to Minnesota to visit with my dad's side. Living in Pennsylvania, we don't get to see these wonderful people often enough!
My Grandpa Dan and me.
My Grandpa Don reading with Nolan in Minnesota.
It was my Grandpa Don and Grandma LaVerne's first time meeting Ephraim, which was so special.
Nolan loved playing with his cousin Mackenzie! Mackenzie just became a big sister last night :)
The boys were so excited to see all of the wildlife at the Minnesota Zoo!
We went blueberry picking for the first time on a hot day in August. It was definitely a highlight for me!
On my birthday, we enjoyed dinner and ice cream cake outside at my mom's house.
On September 9th, Nolan turned FOUR!
We had a blast at "Camp Nolan" with our friends and family, and a smorgasbord of s'mores.
We watched baby birds hatch on our porch in the spring. We grew pumpkins, corn, and other fruits and veggies in our garden all summer. Then in September, we saw a caterpillar become a chrysalis and then a butterfly in our kitchen. It was definitely a year of appreciating God's creation!
We loved having our adorable nieces visit a few times this year!
In October, we took the obligatory trip to the pumpkin farm :)
And Nolan decided that we HAD to be Jake and the Neverland Pirates for Halloween!
We drove out to Indiana to celebrate my Grandpa Dan's 80th birthday in November!
We spent a low-key Thanksgiving with both sets of parents and two of Steve's brothers.
We had an amazing Christmas season. There is nothing quite like seeing the holiday through the perspective of little ones :)
Thank you 2015 for a great year!
The blog might be quiet for a few days as I take a little break and make some changes. Thank you for reading Floral and Fudge for the past three years. (And 700 posts!) You have been a blessing to me!
