Friday Favorites

F R I D A Y   F A V O R I T E S

It's that time again! I'm not sure where the past few days went, but I'm glad it's the weekend! I'm hoping the boys take it easy on us this weekend, and we get some time to relax. Since it's supposed to get near 80, maybe a trip to the beach will be in the works!

This was a favorite post that I saw Instagram this week, as I've been really trying to improve my attitude lately. It's hard for me not to complain when things go wrong, and it's going to be an uphill battle for a long time, but I don't want to be in the business of bringing other people down. You never know how whiney you sound until you have a three-year-old mimicking your behavior ;)

I am head-over-heels for these Liz Lange tank tops from Target! Erika recommended them as undershirts for a long torso, and I have to say, they are perfect! They're maternity, but they don't have ruching along the side, so they're just extra long and stretchy. I wear the medium, and it's definitely form-fitting (it would be tight to wear it all by itself). The neckline is flattering, and the material is SOFT! I stocked up for the summer :)

I tried taking a photo of me wearing the tank, so you could see how it covers my hips.

On our walk last night, we sought out the best flowers our neighborhood has to offer ;)  I've been trying to be more observant about flowers and learn the names of them.

Last week on Instagram, I posted a photo of my neighbor Yvonne's bush because I thought the tiny blossoms were beautiful! My mom saw it and pointed out that it's "Mountain Laurel", the state flower of Pennsylvania and Connecticut :)

There are blooming rhododendrons aplenty in our neighborhood!

We also spotted these pretty pink peonies and trespassed a little to get a photo :)

My favorite buddies :)

If you missed my throwback post yesterday, I graduated from high school TEN years ago today! I'm not sure how this is possible, but I'm embracing it :)  I never want to relive high school, but goodness, I think it would be fun to go back for a few days as the person I am now.

Last week, I mentioned that Michael W. Smith had a great new music video for his song "Sky Spills Over"! This week, I'm giving you a chance to win his album, "SOVEREIGN"!

One of my favorite worship songs on the CD is "Christ Be All Around Me". Our new pastor introduced it to us a few months ago, and it's powerful. Another song, "The One That Really Matters" features Kari Jobe, and it's really beautiful.

  2. Since I've seen so many delicious donuts on your blog, I have to start with saying Happy National Donut Day, Rachel! ;) Hope you enjoy a sweet one. :) I am swooning over all of this floral goodness - so lovely!! I'm inspired by that first quote too. We've been dealing with some issues here that have sent me to prayer continually this week, that God would enable me to have a good attitude throughout. It definitely can be a struggle at times, but anything that makes us rely upon Him more is a good thing in the end. I just keep fixing my thoughts upon Romans 8:28. When I remember that He is sovereign and works ALL things together for our good and ultimately His glory I have a hard time complaining about my situation. When I pray for myself in the coming days, I'll lift you up in prayer too, sweets! <3 Hope you enjoy some refreshing r&r in this weekend, friend!! xo - Brenda // Chatting Over Chocolate

  3. 1. Your boys are so cute!
    2. Those are my FAVORITE tanks too! I have the orange and white too! I wear the black and the white the most and they are wonderful! I love that they are long and not too tight like other more "straight" fitted tanks.

    Happy Friday!
