Currently...

I saw this version of "Currently' on my friend Brianne's blog yesterday, and I wanted to do a short and sweet version of it :)

OPENING  Snail mail. I LOVE snail mail. This past week, we've gotten a very special wedding save-the-date (my cousin Katie), a birth announcement for my cousin Emily's new baby, a note from a friend, and a couple of Valentine's. Note to self: Make the time to write more letters and cards!

EATING  Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Sea Salt and Caramel squares. I ran into the grocery store on Monday and got majorly distracted by the half-off Valentine's candy. And the heart tins are so cute!

PINNING  Preschool crafts! It feels like Pinterest is swamped with tons of so-so preschool ideas, so you really have to dig to find the gems. Do you follow @katherinemaries on Instagram? She inspires me SO much! Her Presidents' Day craft on Monday was adorable :)

WEARING  Anything to keep me warm! Our 96-year-old drafty house has been freezing this week, so I'm layered in sweatshirts and blankets.

WATCHING  The Office! When Steve brought up rewatching the series, I was like, "No, that's so many episodes!" But once we started, I realized that I don't remember any of it, so it's like watching it anew for the first time. So funny!

DRINKING  Mostly just water, coffee, and more coffee. I set the alarm on my phone to ring every hour to tell me to drink more. It has really helped to have that frequent reminder.

OGLING I've been spending my spare minutes watching hair and makeup tutorials, so I have a growing list of products: hair spray, dry shampoo, makeup brushes, curling iron. . . Saving my pennies for one or two of those things! ;)

STILL LAUGHING  At the children's sermon at church on Sunday. . .

Speaker:  What day is today?

Nolan:  Sunday, Valentine's Day.

Speaker:  Did your dad give your mom anything this morning?

Nolan:  No.  **Whole congregation laughs while Steve tries to correct him.**

Speaker:  What can you do to show your mom you love her?

Nolan:  I'm my Mommy's Valentine.

Speaker:  Aww, and what can you do to show her you love her today? Can you give her a hug? Would she like that?

Nolan:  Yes, and she likes when I give her kisses. And I. . . umm. . . I like when she dances with me.

I always get so nervous what he is going to say! But I was laughing so hard, and tearing up at the same time :)

Hope you are having a great week! See you back here on Friday for a whole recap of our week :)

XO.

  3. I'm glad you got your mail! :) I am also ogling new products...I've recently become obsessed with Tea Tree Oil face washes and am trying to find the best one! I like The Body Shop's one the best so far, but I've only sampled it and don't know about longevity. And I need one that isn't a pump!

  5. I too have the goal of sending more notes and cards--receiving 'real' mail is always such a treat. Sending it out is such a simple and easy way to potentially make someone's day! I need to be more disciplined with my water consumption! The only days that I come close to my water goals would be when I make a big pitcher of cumcumber water. familyoffoley.wordpress.com

    Amen to water and coffee!!
Oh, so sweet and adorable about what Nolan said during children's church.
All moms understand the worrying about what will come out of their little mouths, lol. :)
You just never know what they will say, lol:)
