Friday Favorites

FRIDAY! The wonderful thing about today is that Steve is picking up papers from his students, and then he is done on campus until next semester! We are excited to have him home a little more for the next several weeks. Our schedule is filling up with all kinds of Christmas celebrations for the kids. This weekend, Nolan is in the Christmas program at church, and I have this feeling that he's going to make it a show to remember. :)

On to the favorites. . .

Yesterday, we went to "Storytime with Mrs. Clause". Something really cool about living in a small town. . . you go to an event for the public, and you end up finding all of your friends there!

Mrs. Clause did an awesome job reading books, singing songs, and sharing cookies with the kids!

E decided to participate in cookie-eating, and more cookie-eating. He was as happy as a clam to stick around the food table and his mommy. :)

Nolan is that kid who has to be closest to the storyteller.

Telling her something important, I'm sure :)

I tried getting E in these photos, but he wanted nothing to do with Mrs. Clause.

We then had a playdate with my friend Ashley and her kids. We split a pizza, and everyone had a great time!

Yesterday, I shared a recipe for these easy Salt Dough Ornaments that I made with Nolan. They're so inexpensive, and they do a great job at filling up the tree with color and kitsch! We had made cinnamon ones in the past, but I thought these were more fun because you can paint them :)

Christmas Tree Donuts. . . Enough said!

This photo showed up in my newsfeed the other morning. Three-month-old Nolan! Goodness, do I love that little baby! I really can't believe how fast he grows.

Lastly, I just adore Kate from "The Small Things Blog" and her hair and makeup tutorials. I watch her videos in my spare time, and I have learned how to do so much. If only I could find the time to practice (and the money for all of the products) ;)  She's a mom of two boys, and this video is her typical makeup routine. It's fun to get a glimpse at how other people get ready for the day, am I right?

Have a great weekend!

  2. I love Kate too! I have the same issue as you though, I lack the time to practice like I need to. I have done a couple of the hair styles though and I love the results. Hope you have a great weekend!

  4. Happy Friday, Rachel! I'm excited to check out your salt dough ornament recipe! My girls and I enjoyed making some last year, but the recipe we had wasn't the best. Perhaps we'll give yours a go this Christmas season. :) Those festive donuts are too cute! ...and speaking of cuteness, that flashback snapshot is absolutely precious! Have a lovely weekend with your beautiful family! xo - Brenda // ChattingOverChocolate.com
