It's Friday, and I'm wrapping up the week with a few of my favorites and a giveaway of a pretty amazing CD! If you're in a white winter wonderland like we are, I wish you a cozy and safe weekend! And if you've got some sun or warmth, enjoy it for me! :)
I made these "Perfect Blueberry Muffins" by The Baker Chick last week, and we loved them! The recipe made 12 regular-sized muffins and 16 mini muffins, and they were gone within 24 hours (just with the four of us)! I baked them again last night, using frozen blueberries that we picked over the summer. The recipe calls for buttermilk, which helps thicken the batter so that the full-sized blueberries don't sink to the bottom. If you're a batter-lover like I am, you will lick the bowl clean. And the baked muffins--with their butter and brown sugar streusel--delicious!
I received these SOREL Joan of Arctic boots for Christmas from my mom and Don, and I am crazy about them! I picked them out because they're supposed to keep your feet warm in even sub-zero temperatures. And my Target knock-off Uggs from 2007 just were not doing that! :) They're quite pricey, but Cyber Monday was throwing out good deals for us.

I have wanted to taste pretty macarons for years, but could never find them in our small town. I even tried making them myself once, but failed. I finally spotted these minis at the grocery store--and they're made in France! Mmm! The chocolate one was my favorite, and it reminded me of a brownie. I thought the pistachio one was really good too!

This week, I got the chance to review the BRAND NEW PASSION album, Salvation's Tide is Rising. If you're unfamiliar, PASSION is a worship movement that began twenty years ago with Louie Giglio and huge Christian conferences for university students. Based now in Atlanta, the Passion City Church is home to amazing worship artists like Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, Christy Nockels, and Kristian Stanfill.
This album has some outstanding new worship songs. Many of the songs are melodic, modern, and make for good music to just keep playing in the background at home. The best songs have deep meanings: you can spend a lot of time mulling over the lyrics. If you're a Christian radio fan, you'll definitely be hearing a few of these songs on major repeat in the next few months.
Check out the songs on iTunes. The album is released on January 29.
And here is my favorite track from the CD, "Good Good Father" by Kristian Stanfill. Have a listen!

Have a great weekend!

Love those boots! Sorels are supposed to be great quality and well worth the money from what I've heard! I've been wanting a pair too, but I suppose they might be a bit frivolous for these new-to-me southern winters...
ReplyDeleteThose blueberry muffins are making me question why I ate a waffle for breakfast! Those looks delicious! And your boots-love them!!! Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteI have been so terrible at commenting lately, but I've kept up with your sweet family! The boys are huge! And I really need to make those muffins.. I feel like Michael and Linc would LOVE them!

I got a pair of (shorter) furry sorel's last year and I'm in LOVE with them. They truly are the warmest shoes ever, and I have never had to worry yet about slipping in them at all. (In contrast to my well loved Uggs with zero traction...)
ReplyDeleteI can never find a good blueberry muffin recipe---your recommendation sounds pretty good!!
ReplyDeleteJealous of you getting to wear your new snow boots - I'm waiting for our (unusually late in the season) first snow and might get the chance this weekend. Those muffins looks quite delicious - you've got me wanting to make some!
ReplyDeleteThose muffins look delicious! And I love those boots...I definitely need something like that!
