I have always wanted to make these adorable little birds' nests. I mean, chocolate holders for my Cadbury mini eggs? I had to give them a try. ;) What perfect cookies for springtime and Easter! Flavor-wise, they're like a mix of a chocolate peanut butter no-bake and a Little Debbie Star Crunch.
Ingredients for 12 Nests:
1 Tablespoon unsalted butter to grease the muffin tin
12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup creamy peanut butter
6 ounces chow mein noodles
36 Cadbury mini eggs
I took a picture of the chow mein bag so you can see what to look for at the store (you'll use half the bag).
Directions:
Generously grease a muffin tin (12 wells) with butter.
In a large bowl, melt the chocolate in the microwave for 30 seconds. Stir, and then microwave again for 30 seconds. Continue in 30 second increments, if needed, until all the chips have melted, but be cautious not to overcook it.
Add in the cup of peanut butter until well-mixed.
Next, pour in the chow mein noodles and carefully stir until all the noodles are well-coated.
Divide the mixture into the 12 wells of the muffin tin. Press down the centers with the back of a spoon to create the nest shape.
Put the tin in the fridge to chill for at least an hour.
Carefully pop the nests out of the muffin tin, using a butter knife to loosen and lever them out.
Place 3 Cadbury eggs in the center!
It's an easy recipe for little hands to help with! Enjoy!
I'll be recapping our week tomorrow, so come back for a picture-filled post! :)
These are adorable!! And sound super yummy too!
