Friday Favorites

F R I D A Y   F A V O R I T E S

We had an awesome pre-Easter celebration last Saturday—and these are my FAVORITE two photos of the week, captured by my big camera :)

Yesterday, I shared the Easter touches around our house for the Every Girl Link-Up! I included two free floral printables—take a look! My family is all ready for one of our very favorite holidays! I can’t wait for Sunday!

Yesterday, my friend Heather threw an Easter Egg hunt for a big group of us at her house, and we had so much fun! It was the warmest day so far this year, so we tried to overlook the rain.

All of the families sat down for dinner together, potluck style. I wish that Steve had been able to come!

At one point, I looked out on the driveway where all the kids were playing in the mud, and I saw two red shoes without a little boy attached to them. Nolan had to be plucked out of his stuck-in the-mud Converses by another dad (who was holding a 1-year-old in his other arm!)  I think it’s time we invest in some rain boots?  #boymom

It’s no secret that my favorite Easter candy is Cadbury mini eggs! I love them baked into Cadbury Mini Egg Blondies too!

And last year I made these yummy Cadbury Crème Egg Cupcakes. If you’re thinking of baking this Easter weekend, these are two great recipes!

Favorite story of the week:

I was getting together clothes, toys, and other random things to take to our church for an upcoming rummage sale. I found a dress in the basement that I wasn’t quite ready to get rid of. It is just a basic, sleeveless cotton dress with a multicolor pattern. When Nolan saw it, he insisted I put it on. I slipped it over my head, on top of my shirt and jeans.

He said, “Wow! You’re beautiful! Like a princess! You’re my best Princess Mommy.” For the rest of the night, he kept referring to me as Princess Mommy. “I love you, Princess Mommy. I always love you.” And then he told me to keep the dress on until the next morning. I’m keeping that boy. :)

Speaking of princesses, today is the last day to enter the giveaway to win a copy of the children’s book, “Pajama Girl and the Coronation of the Cupcake Queen”!

I haven’t mentioned our kitchen remodel lately because it got put on the backburner while Steve worked on his many other projects. But on Monday, Steve ripped out our pantry (shown in the photo) and we gained a LOT of good kitchen space!

I hope you all have a fabulous Easter weekend—celebrating with family, feasting on ham and chocolate bunnies—and most importantly remembering the One who died on the cross, rose again from the dead, and redeemed us all. Xoxo.

  4. i've written the blondie mini cadbury egg recipe down to pick up the ingredients at the store today! i'm going to make them for the final four party we are attending saturday evening! i'll probably need to double it; do you think if i doubled it, putting it in a 9x13 pan would work? so excited to try this!

    1. You're going to love them! Do you have two 9x9s or 8x8s? You might just make two pans of them instead of the 9x13. I'm assuming it would work in a 9x13... but they might end up SUPER thick, so you'd have to be sure they baked through in the middle :)
