the best christmas pageant ever

Well, maybe not THE best ever, but it was pretty darn cute, since it was Nolan’s first Christmas program :)

When we got to church, he refused to put on his shepherd’s costume. . . so we bribed him with cookies. Then he wouldn’t put on his headpiece. But, you win some, you lose some :)

The program started with the guys jamming on their guitars to some “Angels We Have Heard on High”.

Nolan did a really good job staying still, keeping watch over his stuffed animals, and acting terrified when the angel came to tell them the Good News :) Then the boys jogged around the sanctuary sharing about Jesus’ birth.

All of the kids sang so well, and they did some fun motions!

My favorite part was when Nolan got a little sleepy during “Away in the Manger”, and laid his sweet head down on Miss Michele, his Sunday School teacher.

Sitting on MorMor’s lap when his part was done.

Several people had music acts, including Steve—who sang “Snoopy’s Christmas vs. The Red Baron” from the 60s. I wish I had it on video for you because it was so good!

Everyone got out their instruments at the end, including a couple of flautists and an accordion, to play some more Christmas carols!

And of course the littlest musician joined in:

Baby Ephraim on xylophone :)

We had refreshments and fellowship afterwards in the basement. I’ll be sharing my chocolate mice tomorrow—they turned out really cute!

How was your weekend?
