These past few weeks have been wild and crazy, but I feel like we must be doing something right. Everyone is happy and healthy, and despite being snowed in, we’ve had more playdates and visits with friends than we’ve had in a long while!
Let’s get on to the Favorites. . .
Since it was Dr. Seuss’s birthday on March 2nd—this week is deemed SEUSS WEEK! Nolan and I have been diving into some old classics! We started by reading “Hop on Pop” on Tuesday, popping some popcorn, and learning some two and three-letter words from the book!
On Wednesday, we read Dr. Seuss’s ABC Book, and we tried to make it even more fun! My favorite parts are “Doughnuts and a Duck-Dog” and “Painting some Pajamas Pink” :)
Yesterday, we had a snack of “Cat in the Hat” cheese sticks, and then we did a couple of art projects. I love Nolan’s little handprint as the fish!
Today we’ll be doing “Green Eggs & Ham”!
If you missed yesterday’s recipe, I tried another version of my favorite easy toffee! I’ve made Saltine Toffee, Graham Cracker Toffee, and now Pretzel Toffee. All three variations are DELICIOUS!!
On Saturday, my littlest man turned 13 months-old!
A few stats about Ephraim right now (so I don’t forget :)
Walks/Teeters around more than he crawls!
Eats, eats, and eats! Favorites are bananas, bread, pizza, noodles, & squeezie applesauce.
Still fits comfortably in 12-month clothes and size 3 diapers.
Not cuddling as much—wants to be active and moving ALL the time.
Learned how to drink out of a sippy cup (less nursing needed).
Understands “Give me a kiss”, “Sit down”, “Push the button”, “Come here”, and a few other simple commands.
His two top teeth came in this past month, so now he has four total with a fifth on the way!
Hasn’t quite started speaking yet, though I hear “Hi Daddy” and “Ivy” sometimes.
Loves his dog, loves his brother.
Puts up a fight for what he wants.
Gets into EVERYTHING.
He is the most precious little guy!
My favorite surprise this week—Stephen painted part of our living room while I was at lunch with a friend on Monday! I came home, and everything had already been put back together. I love the new look of the mantel with a gray background!
I talk about how I love Lowe’s “Build and Grow” all the time! Nolan had fun building a Monster Truck on Saturday. He and his friends ran around the table with their Monster Trucks (for what seemed like) a hundred times! Then we went out to lunch and played some more :) A week from tomorrow, we’ll be building another Monster Truck!
I took these photos on Monday when we had ice cream with our friend Meghan. The 4 pm light was pouring into the restaurant, and the photos turned out really cute :) Nolan loved that dinky old firetruck!
My friend Elisabeth has a gorgeous Instagram account @instaebeth, and the other day, she posted this photo of my FAVORITE new saying of encouragement, “Beautiful girl, you can do hard things.”
I found that when I’m having a bad day, or the boys are really acting up, I repeat this to myself, and it instantly gives me confidence to keep pressing on. It reminds me of “I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13

I made this collage last night of all of our baby photos (around 12-13 months). Who is who?! ;)
Happy weekend, everyone!!
I think this is technically Steve’s “Spring Break”, but with all of the snow on the ground, I think we’ll just call it “Break”, haha.

I love your Dr. Seuss activities! I just read a few of the books with my son on Monday. Next year I'll have to make a note to plan ahead a little more and have a little more fun with it.

What fun ideas for Dr. Seuss! I totally missed that :) I love those pics of Ephram in the sunset. Ok so I've always wanted to try those Lowes/Home Depot workshops with Beckham but wasn't sure if they were more suited for older kiddos. I'll have to check it out. And those pics of all of you guys...wow. Is that your husband in the top left? I think Nolan really looks like him if so.
ReplyDeleteGreat Dr.Seuss ideas! It looks like you had a lot of fun! All I did were the cheese sticks. Ha!
