candy bar brownie bites

Nolan and I had a play-date last week, and I wanted to bring along a fun and easy dessert—to be enjoyed by moms and toddlers alike.

I bought a big bag of Valentine candy—with mini Milky Ways, mini Milky Way Midnights, mini 3 Musketeers, and mini Snickers (didn’t use the Mini Twix). I was a little skeptical that the recipe was going to work once I noticed that it required a mini muffin tin for the brownies (didn’t think they’d be big enough for the candy). But the whole baking process went smoothly, and I ended up with these delicious little bites.

Ingredients
:
1 box brownie mix
Eggs, oil, and water as specified on brownie mix box
48 mini candy bars
Frosting—I bought the squirtable frosting above, and it was perfect for this recipe

Directions
:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Mix the brownie batter according to the package’s directions. Spray a mini muffin tin with non-stick spray. Fill each hole with 1 teaspoon of brownie batter.

Bake for 11 minutes. Let them sit for 2 minutes once you pull them out of the oven.

Push a mini candy into the center of each brownie. Wait another 2 minutes until you remove the brownies (may need to use a sharp knife to pop them out of the tin). Let cool on a wire rack.

Wipe off the muffin tin with a paper towel, and re-spray it with non-stick spray before you make another batch.

When they’re cooled, top with a little dollop of frosting.

My favorite were the Milky Way ones. I’ll have to buy more Valentine candy so I can make more!
