two and a half

Yesterday, we sang “Happy Half-Birthday” to our little buddy over half of a  chocolate bundt cake topped with green, vanilla frosting. I’m a firm believer in celebrating half birthdays, even though technically I don’t have a half birthday myself (February 31st does not exist). It’s just a fun thing to do. :)

Happy Two-and-a-Half to our:

Alphabet-singing,
Max & Ruby-watching,
Juice box-drinking,
Puppy-loving,
Dr. Seuss-reading,
Pretend dish-washing,
Matchbox car-driving,
Chocolate chip pancake-eating,

Brown-eyed big brother,
Nolan Bruce!!

  2. This is awesome! Are you happy with the age gap with kids, or would you suggest waiting longer or having the second one sooner than you did? My little girl is 11 months old right now. We are talking about waiting until she is around 20 months old to start trying for baby #2 so that she will be around 2 and a half. I know things work differently for different families but people keep telling me I should wait longer for Lily to be like 3 and a half or 4. That just feels too far apart for me. Love you blog!

    1. Hi Ashley!
I think that so far, 2.5 is just right for us. I was a little nervous because when I was pregnant, Nolan couldn't understand what I meant when I told him we were going to have a new baby brother for him. I worried that he was going to be upset and confused. But, instead, he is just living life as normal as before. He doesn't have a whole lot of interest in the baby, but he is still kind to the baby and can help do simple favors like grab me a burp cloth or throw away a diaper. He also has been playing independently more, so I can focus on Ephraim. So, yeah, I personally think starting to try when Lily is 18-20 months is a great idea :)

  5. I love the half cake idea. Anything for cake! :) My oldest is just over 2 1/2 and our little is just 8 months. It is crazy with two but gets better by the day. :)
