Our evening last night flew by, as it usually does. We let the boys splash around in the lukewarm bath to cool off from the heat and wash the spaghetti sauce off of their faces. After they were in bed with teeth brushed, songs sung, and a nighttime book read, Steve and I headed downstairs and straightened up the playroom. I cleared off the back porch before the rain and checked on my garden while I caught up with a neighbor. And then I spent some time with my mom on the phone, recapping our respective days. Steve and I only have one computer, so I relinquished my turn so that he could enter final grades for his classes. The season finale of “Castle” started at 10, and we watched the extra-creepy episode while eating big scoops of vanilla ice cream with my homemade hot fudge. We listened to a nice, loud thunderstorm and heaps of rain. Then I started work on a blog post I planned to write about breastfeeding. But I realized there is so much I want to say on the topic, and I want to say it as best I can without rushing the writing process. Soon, it was midnight and time to hit the hay because today is going to be a busy day. I wanted to share that sometimes it’s best to cuddle on the couch with your husband and watch season finales of your favorite shows instead of sitting at the computer typing all night. Actually, this is really how I wish every night could be :)
So true!!! Such a great picture too!!! Also, I loved you Mother's Day dress!!!! You looked wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteIce cream and Castle. That's a good combo! Sometimes it's nice to just slow down and snuggle with your loved ones. I am a go-go-go person but it's refreshing to just literally plop on the sofa. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteThis is so me! Some nights I watch one or two shows with him and it's so nice instead of working on the computer.
ReplyDeleteI agree! There are tons of topics that have to take a back seat to my real life in order to do them justice! Glad you spent some quality time, but cant wait to read that article!
ReplyDeleteAgreed! I'll take an early night in with hubby over the blog / my thesis any day!
ReplyDeleteAgreed! My favorite part of the night is chilling on the couch with my hubby once the kids have gone to bed. Now if I could just get them to bed earlier!
ReplyDeleteAgreed. I enjoy Steven and I's TV time together too !!
