These taste just like classic Rice Krispie treats. They’re so easy to make—and so pretty for a Christmas cookie tray!
Ingredients:
1 stick unsalted butter
4 cups mini marshmallows
4 cups corn flakes
1/2 teaspoon green food coloring
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup Red Hots
Directions:
Line two baking sheets with waxed paper.
Melt butter in a heavy saucepan over low heat. Next, add marshmallows and stir until smooth.
Remove from heat. Add green food coloring and vanilla—stir until well-blended.
Pour in the corn flakes, and stir until they are nicely coated with green.
Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the waxed paper, and quickly form them into wreaths (greased hands help here).
Decorate with Red Hots while the wreaths are still warm. (I could have used a second pair of hands here because I didn’t work quickly enough to get the Red Hots to stick well.)
Store tightly-covered.
Delicious and so festive!!
Cute!! In Kindergarten (don't ask me how I remember this) we made ornaments very similar to these!! We used shredded wheat and glue and waited for them to dry. I remember being so confused and wondering why we couldn't eat them even though they had cereal in them! Lol
ReplyDeleteThose are super cute! I might have to try those with Xavier next year :)
