life lately

IMG_9413 On Saturday, we celebrated Christmas with Steve’s dad’s family. Steve’s grandma Gloria has very progressed dementia, and her children really wanted everyone to gather together this year for the holiday.

Though it was difficult to see Gloria in her current condition, we had a really nice time catching up with Steve’s grandpa, aunts, uncles, and cousins—sharing memories, indulging in Christmas cookies, singing carols, and chasing our little ones around the house.

Spending five hours in the car was a little rough, but we made it through with a fun stop at Toys R Us and some large Arby’s milkshakes. :)

  1. That's great that you got to spend the holiday with Miss Gloria. My grandpa passed away last year from Alzheimer's, which started with dementia, so I understand some of your pain. How sweet for her to have all of your family there, though - even though it may have been difficult to see her that way, I'm sure it meant the world to her to just see you all! And Arby's milkshakes are the way to go, always :) Merry belated Christmas!
