peppermint oreo ice cream cake

peppermint oreo ice cream cake
This ice cream cake is something else. It tastes incredible and is super simple. I’ve made similar ice cream cakes in the past with other flavors, so when my blog friend Mel mentioned that she used peppermint ice cream in her recipe, I had to try it. Thanks, Mel!

Ingredients
:
container of peppermint ice cream
package of Oreos (all 30 Oreos)
1/3 cup butter (almost 6 Tablespoons)
jar of hot fudge topping (12-16 ounces)
about four candy canes

Directions:
Crush up the Oreos—I like to use a plastic bag and rolling pin for this step.

Put the butter in the microwave for 20-30 seconds until melted. Mix the butter and the Oreo crumbs together in a bowl, then press them into a 9x13 inch dish. Freeze for 30 minutes.

Let the ice cream soften for 15-30 minutes. Then scoop it over the Oreo crumbs.

Spread the ice cream with a spoon or spatula.

Freeze the cake for 2-3 hours.

After at least two hours, microwave the jar of hot fudge for a minute. Then pour it over the ice cream layer, and spread evenly.

Garnish with crushed up candy canes.
You may want to pull the cake out of the freezer 10 minutes before cutting and serving.

And if peppermint is not your favorite flavor, you can switch it up with any other flavor ice cream! Still delicious!
