life lately

What a fast week this has been! We’ve really enjoyed some extra family time.

My mom called on Thursday morning to ask if Nolan wanted one of his Christmas presents a little early. They had bought Nolan a snowsuit and boots, and Thursday was a beautiful, sunny day for playing outside. He LOVED playing in the snow. He and Daddy built a good-sized snowman. And it was a good thing he got that snowsuit early, because all of our snow has melted in warm rain the past couple of days.

He looked like a big marshmallow, and it was hilarious to watch him run around the yard (and tumble a couple times) in his puffy outfit.

Giving the snow a little taste…

My friend Kim made these beautiful centerpieces for our MOPS Christmas meeting. I had just seen them on Pinterest—love the cranberries floating at the top with the tealight in the middle!

We went to meet Mickey & Minnie on Saturday with my friend Amanda and her son Emmett. Unfortunately, Nolan and Emmett were too shy to sit and have their picture taken. We ate some pancakes at the event, and before we left, Nolan was willing to shake Mickey’s hand.

We met our friends’ new baby last night! She is 6-weeks-old and so precious! It was good for us to hold a little baby and get a glimpse of what we’re about to experience again.

Are you ready for Christmas in two days? We still have some last-minute shopping, gift-wrapping, and cookie-decorating to do. But I’m so very excited for Tuesday night and Wednesday!

“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.”
