life lately

Putting up his “Cars” Christmas window clings.
Running around with a punching balloon. Don’t mind my fall bunting still up. I’m working on a Christmasy mantel :)
We’re so happy to have our new Christmas tree up and decorated!
Nolan and I visited my mom on Saturday at our local library—selling fair trade purses and bags handmade in Thailand. I didn’t get to visit the other booths though, as Nolan ran circles around the library the whole time ;)
I did buy one of these purses though (mine is purple; I should post it sometime)—I love it!
Aspiring to be a guitarist like his daddy.
Watching “The Sound of Music” on Thursday.
Enjoying some red velvet chocolate chip pancakes :)
While we were eating breakfast, Nolan came into the kitchen saying, “Baby toys! Baby toys!” Steve and I were really curious what he was talking about. He pried us out of our seats to come into the play room. We found he had set up the baby dolls in the Bumbo seat, and put all his toy alphabet magnets on the tray for them to play with.   :) He’s going to be a good big brother!

This is such a busy season of preparation for all of us: baking cookies, decorating our trees and our homes, buying gifts for those we love, practicing for Christmas concerts and plays… and in my case, preparing for a baby to come next month. Let’s not forget to prepare our hearts to remember the one who came into this world so long ago.

“A voice of one calling in the wilderness,
’Prepare the way for the Lord,
make straight paths for him.
Every valley shall be filled in,
every mountain and hill made low.
The crooked roads shall become straight,
the rough ways smooth.
And all people will see God’s salvation.’”
Luke 3: 4-6

  1. That is so sweet what Nolan did for the baby dolls! A great big brother move :) I'd love to know your thoughts on The Sound of Music - I only got to watch a little bit of it but DVRed the rest and am trying to see if it's worth watching!
